Blended Learning During COVID
Due to the COVID pandemic we have moved to a blended learning approach to our education. Whilst we have some children learning from home and some critical worker pupils in school we are ensuring that the education provision offered to pupils is the same despite their location.
All work for the pupils is set on Teams. Work is uploaded along with a weekly timetable on a Sunday to allow parents time to print off/plan for the week ahead accordingly.
Children are set tasks to complete for maths and literacy each morning, with a range of cross curricular activities provided for the afternoon sessions.
Wednesday afternoons are wellbeing Wednesdays. This is time away from the screen for the children to focus on activities that will promote their wellbeing and allow important family time. Activities range from mindfulness colouring, to baking with a whole range of other activities suggested.
Spellings are still set on a Monday in readiness for a test on Fridays.
Every Monday we have a live assembly at 9am. This event is held on Teams and follows one of our values from our Roots and Shoots scheme of work. We then have live online registration each day at 9am, with each day following a different Theme. See below:
Monday – Assembly
Tuesday – What’s the question?
Wednesday – Tell us a joke
Thursday – Boggle – who can find the 9-letter word?
Friday- Bring your favourite piece of work to registration to show to your friends.
The children have access to a range of online learning platforms such as Hwb, MyMaths, CosyCloud, TTRockstars, PhonicsPlay and Nessy.
